Peschiera del Garda, also known as Arilica in the age of the Roman empire, was located on the old “Via Gallica” (a road that connected Milan and the Veneto region). The town of Peschiera has been part of the Unesco heritage since 2017. In 1866, it played decisive role in the Third War of Independence due to “The famous quadrilateral”, an Austrian defensive system against the Lombardy-Venetian army. This fortress was connected to Legnago and Verona, as well as Peschiera.

COMPARTE leads visitors on a guided tour to discovering the origins, squares and military buildings which have designed its history of the town. It is also possible to integrate the route with a short boat tour along the Venetian walls. Visitors will ultimately understand why the town is so friendly.
