The Red Cross tour, the most international tour, is suitable for dogs and their owners. The tour starts in the historical hills, precisely in San Martino della Battaglia and involves walking our little friends around the farmsteads where the main events of the Second War of Italian Independence took place: Cobue, Ortaglia, Contraccagna and Stefanona.

COMPARTE guides you through these places, where the first idea of international aid that led to the “The Italian Red Cross” was conceived. The merit of this goes to Jean Henry Dunant, better known as Henry Dunant (Geneva, 8 May 1828 – Heiden, 30 October 1910), who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1900 for his contribution to allowing soldiers to receive medical treatment directly on the battlefield.

This tour will also be provided in a trekking version, which includes an extra guided tour inside the imposing Tower of San Martino, a huge construction dedicated to King Vittorio Emanuele II who was elected King of Italy after the Italian reunification. The itineraries will lead you to other parts of the museum with their curiosities on uniforms, buttons and medals that belonged to those who fell in battle. The tour ends in a local cellar with a wine tasting of local products.
